Jonathan Ferland – Valois

Jonathan

  • Ring masters manager
  • Vancouver Circus School since 2012
  • Specialist with: handstands / tumbling

Specializing in hand balancing, Jonathan is a long-time acrobat who is committed to making his skills as strong as his Montréal accent. Gymnast from an early age, he participated in many competitions, doing well for himself at a national level before going to firefighting school and then spending his days training parkour and his nights climbing buildings.

Jonathan then packed a few belongings, and moved to Vancouver, which he had previously visited for a competition, and promised himself that he would go back because he really liked it. That is when he started using his previously acquired skills to perform on the streets. Jonathan had the fortune to run into Meregon Kiddo, who invited him to visit the Vancouver Circus School. After passing the school’s audition with flying colors, Jonathan started performing more frequently. This led Jonathan to work with many other circus artists from the Lower Mainland, entering the Dragon’s Den with Travis and Meregon, performing in front of thousands for Odysseo (Cavalia), and occasionally having the pleasure of being sent abroad for various projects.

The still young, still handsome man continues teaching at the Vancouver Circus School to this day, helping his students achieve challenging feats while telling them plenty of strange – but probably entertaining – stories.
