The Vancouver Circus School offers a wide range of physical literacy based circus classes, our programs follow the Rainbow Learning System which is a VCS develop progressive teaching system for recreational circus programs. It has a framework that will allow almost anyone to achieve his or her dream of performing in a circus.
The skills that students acquire at the school form a solid foundation for learning advanced circus work leading, perhaps, to a professional circus career. The system is a 100% recreational, it is fun and it is designed to meet many long term physical objectives.
Session registration opens on the 15th, 2 months prior to the beginning of a session and closes halfway through the session (i.e. registration for January – February opens on November 15 and closes at the beginning of February).
Although session registration ends half way through a session, drop ins are still available for those 8-14yrs and 15yrs+. In order to drop into a class, please first create an account and add a student on our registration software, here.
After, please contact us to request your drop in. We will invoice your account and the balance will be made available for you to pay online. Please note drop in is dependant on availability and is subject to change. For more information, please see ‘RLS Drop In Policy’ below.
Classes with 1 or less students registered will be cancelled on the week prior to the start of the session.
Classes with 2 or less students registered will be cancelled after 2 classes have been completed.
What to Wear
Active wear is strongly recommended. NO JEANS or SKIRTS. Avoid shorts and sleeveless shirts. Hardware such as zippers, belts, buttons and embellishments will not be permitted on the equipment. T-Shirts that cover stomach and arm pits, stretchy pants, sweat pants or leggings that cover the back of knees will be perfect! Shoes will not be permitted on our mats.
VCS Membership Fee
All Students will be charged a membership fee. This fee will insure you under Gymnastics BC and allow students to participant in classes with us. This fee is valid from September 1 – August 31 and will be required to be renewed at the beginning of September.
Class Registration/Refund Policies:
Class not for you? Students may cancel their registration once the first class of the session has been completed for a refund of the remaining session. If the day or time is not working for the student, students are able to request a schedule change to a different class day/time for the remainder of the program provided the request is made within the first two weeks of the program.
All schedule changes and cancellations will be subject to a $10 penalty fee.
After the second week of classes of the session has concluded, no changes may occur. Refunds will not be granted after the second class. Registrations after the two weeks are considered ‘late’ and are not eligible for a refund. Students are not permitted to change classes for a single week, any changes made to your schedule are permanent. Make-up classes are not permitted.
Students who miss a minimum of 3 consecutive weeks due to a medical reason are entitled to a refund for missed classes upon presentation of a doctor’s note for missed class time.
Full refunds will be provided if the program is cancelled or deemed not suitable for the student by the facility (i.e. for ability, safety, maturity concerns) and pro-rated as applicable.
Camp Registration/Refund Policies:
Camp cancellations up to 7 days prior to camp start date are eligible for a full refund, less a $20 cancellation fee. Camp refunds are not permitted after this date.

Students may register up to 2 days into the camp, however camps are not pro-rated.
Group Booking Refund/Changes Policies:
Birthdays and gym visits may be cancelled and refunded up until the Monday 2 weeks prior to the booking. Afterwards, cancellations will result in a $100 late cancellation fee.
Organizers have up until the Monday 1 week prior to the booking to add participants and upgrade or downgrade to a different participant flat rate. Upgrade requests after this date may be declined or subject to a $50 late upgrade fee. If there is 1 additional participant, rather than upgrading to the next flat rate, the organizer will be charged $25 + tax.
Professional development programs are subject to their own unique refund policy outlined in their contract.
RLS Drop – In Policy: Drop Ins are allowed for those 8-14yrs and 15yrs+. Drop Ins are permitted provided space in the class is available. Students who register for a full session receive priority and drop – in students may be removed if a student registers for the remaining available spot in the class. Drop – in registration will close by 5:00pm. Weekend class drop ins must be requested by 3:00pm on the Friday prior.
Disclaimer – Classes may be cancelled or combined due to low registration, students/parents will be notified if a class is to be cancelled.
Waiver – All students participating in any activity using the facilities and equipment of the Vancouver Circus School must be aware that by registering/participating in any activity they are acknowledging they have read and agree to the terms of the Vancouver Circus School Waiver. Terms of the liability waiver can be found by clicking “Legal Conditions”. All Birthdays, Group Visits, and Private Lessons are required to sign a copy of this agreement prior to commencing their booking. All waivers can be found at the bottom of our website.
