Valerie Johnson has been responsible for building one the most successful trampoline programs in Canada, having developed the City of New Westminster’s trampoline and gymnastics program, along with the Shasta Trampoline Team, Val has successfully educated generations of athletes.
The Gymnastics and Trampoline program in the City of New Westminster is one of the longest running gymnastic and trampoline programs in Canada, and the Shasta Trampoline Team is the oldest trampoline club in the country.
Valerie Johnson was the very first Canadian National Trampoline Champion 1971, 1972 and 1973.
1972 at the World Championships in Stuttgart Germany Valerie was a Canadian Team Member and came 6th in B Class Trampoline.
1974 at the World Championships in Johannesburg, South Africa Valerie was a Canadian Team Member and came 4th in synchro trampoline and 12th in individual trampoline.
1975 Valerie Johnson formed the Shasta Trampoline Team.
Shasta has had a long history of representing Shasta Trampoline and Canada at International meets like World Championships, Indo Pacific Championships, World Games and World Age Group Competitions.
Valerie Johnson was inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame in 2020.
